West Park guided walk
Released: 22 January 2007
Wolverhampton residents have the chance to find out more about their city’s landmark Victorian park at a guided walk this coming Sunday (JAN 28).
West Park rangers will be hosting the event, which starts at 11am, from the tearooms near the Bandstand/Connaught Road entrance. The park was recently described as a “jewel” by national tourism bosses and it also features in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Good Parks Guide.
Sunday’s informal walk will give people the opportunity to learn more about the history and importance of Wolverhampton’s premier park and its best features such as the conservatory, bandstand and boating lake.
There will be ample time after the tour for visitors to ask the rangers any questions they have over a cup of tea in the restored tearooms from where several new information leaflets, including a children’s activity sheet and West Park history guide, are available.
