Box Office move is just the ticket
Released: 16 January 2007
Wolverhampton City Council’s Midland Box Office has today moved its daytime operation to a new purpose-built venue.
The new box office, previously located at the Little Civic in North Street, has been built across what was formerly Woolpack Alley, next to the Visitor Information Centre.
The relocation to Queen Square, closer to the city’s shopping centres, aims to make it more convenient for customers to purchase their tickets, with a state-of-the-art ticketing system and information about a range of entertainment close at hand.
Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, said: “This is another example of the council providing the people of Wolverhampton and its visitors with a quality development which is customer friendly and gives a good impression of the city, providing a fully comprehensive arts and entertainment information service - all from the central location of Queen Square.”
Midland Box Office opened for business this morning and is now open Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 6pm.
The box office at the Little Civic will continue to open from 6pm in the evenings on days when there are events taking place at the Civic Halls or Little Civic. This will enable customers to purchase tickets on the evening of an event or collect pre-ordered tickets.
Tickets can be purchased for a great selection of forthcoming shows and events in Wolverhampton including Scott Matthews on January 30; the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra with the Romance of Rachmaninov on February 14; the Halle Spectacular on February 28; Lily Allen on March 7; Jet on March 13; Russell Brand on March 26 and Marillion on June 11.
