Residents take notice of new ways to share information
Released: 21 December 2007
Schools and community venues across the Bilston East area are to benefit from new notice boards thanks to the local neighbourhood partnership and Wolverhampton Community Safety Partnership.
The boards at three schools and six community venues are being put up to help share information on all the work taking place to bring about improvements in the area and promote community safety.
Bilston East Neighbourhood Partnership has funded four and obtained a Community Safety Grant from the community safety partnership to provide the others.
Anwar Ulhaq, Neighbourhood Manager said: “These notice boards are part of different strategies which aim to inform Bilston residents about what is happening in the area including the work Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership, local schools and community organisations are doing to address local issues.
“I would like to thank Wolverhampton Community Safety Partnership for their support in this project; these notice boards will help to ensure we reach more residents.”
Shen Brown, from Wolverhampton Community Safety Partnership, said: “Community Safety Grants are available to help community groups and not-for-profit organisations develop crime reduction projects in their neighbourhoods. The information boards across the Bilston East Local Neighbourhood Partnership area will improve public reassurance for local residents and provide opportunities to get involved in local initiatives.”
