Comedian Alan Carr presents his Wednesday night project
Released: 14 August 2007
Alan Carr, award-winning comedian and presenter of Channel 4’s The Friday Night Project, will bring his stand-up show to Wolverhampton this autumn.
The Manchester-based comedian will be performing at the city council’s flagship Civic Hall on Wednesday 7 November.
He is stopping off in the Black Country following a hugely successful tour of the UK earlier this year, which ended with three sell-out nights at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
Carr has risen to become one of the hottest young stand-ups in Britain after winning New Comedian of the Year in 2001 and being named Best Stand-Up Comedian in the North West in 2005.
The man who has been described as the spiritual son of Frankie Howerd by City Life magazine has received critical acclaim for his recent TV appearances which include Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, panel show Eight Out of Ten Cats and The Friday Night Project, which he co-hosts with fellow funny man Justin Lee Collins.
Civic Hall spokesman Jonn Penney said: “We are delighted to have Alan Carr coming to Wolverhampton and we are all looking forward to his show.”
Tickets are on sale now, priced £19, and are available from Midland Box Office on 0870 320 7000 or online at www.wolvescivic.co.uk.
