Bins collected as normal on May Day Bank Holiday
Released: 30 April 2007
Wolverhampton City Council will be collecting domestic refuse as usual on May Day Bank Holiday, next Monday, 7 May.
Councillor Pat Byrne, Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “We’re making sure that residents know that we are collecting as normal this Bank Holiday Monday. We’re running adverts and there is also information on our www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/recycling website link”.
All residents whose green box, black or green bin collection falls on the May Day Bank holiday are also being reminded to put out their rubbish as usual.
“People are starting to get out into their gardens now, so we believe they’ll welcome this improvement in service”, added Cllr. Byrne.
The Household Waste and Recycling Centres at Shaw Road, Bushbury and Anchor Lane, Coseley, will be open over the holiday. The sites are open from 8.00am to 8.00pm from Monday to Friday and from 8.00am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
