West Park guided walk
Released: 18 April 2007
City council rangers will lead a free guided walk around Wolverhampton’s historic West Park this Sunday 22 April. Participants will be able to learn more about the heritage of the Victorian attraction and the wildlife that lives there.
The walk will take in features like the recently refurbished conservatory as well as bandstand, lake, chalet tearooms and central flowerbeds.
Senior ranger Allan Wassall said: “The conservatory has only just reopened after a facelift and is certainly well worth a visit. Elsewhere staff have performed a marvellous job with the layout of plants in the park. Sunday’s walk will be the last chance for people to see the central flower beds looking wonderful in their full colour winter bloom before summer planting. There will be plenty of opportunities for people to ask the rangers questions either during the walk or over a cuppa in the tearooms afterwards.”
The walk starts at 11am outside the tearooms near the Connaught Road entrance.
