Scrutiny Board

The scrutiny process is overseen by a Scrutiny Board, made up of the leading Members for Scrutiny. The Scrutiny Board oversees the work of the Scrutiny Panels.

The Scrutiny Board carries out the call-in function - where Members seek more information on decisions of the Executive, and can hold back decisions if necessary.

Scrutiny Board meetings are open to the press and public. However, some items may need to be heard in private. The press and public will be asked to leave the room for these items.
