Graffiti Board Comments - ideas for making Wolverhampton a better place for young people in the future

Young people in Wolverhampton were asked to take part in survey.

The aim of the survey was to find out what young people thought about living and growing up in Wolverhampton.

Below is a sample of the ideas from young about changes that would make Wolverhampton a better place for young people in the future.

  1. More Lollypop Ladies.
  2. More police officers as a visible presence on the streets.
  3. More invested into improving services for young people, cultural activities and facilities/education for deprived areas.
  4. Cheaper buses, Oyster Card system. A designated 'hang out' area for young people.
  5. More free places to chill, swimming pool, science park - like the Think Tank (Birmingham).
  6. Science museum, more child and teenager friendly instead of adult friendly e.g. theme parks, think tank, more swimming pools, more discos, more transport.
  7. I would have a clean City and I would crack down hard on criminal activities for the future. I would keep a database full of young people's views on the City and what THEY want for the future.
  8. Revamp the area, but revamp it not by knocking down buildings as we a losing are heritage (especially around Horseley Fields Junction) - the flats might be modern, but don't match in.
  9. Introduce free bus passes/concession cards. More play facilities.
  10. No crime and make education fun to learn.
  11. Get rid of gangs, stop young kids from joining them by offering other options.
  12. Put signs up for No Littering.
  13. Teach younger children now to respect others.
