Review of children and young people's access to outdoor play spaces in Wolverhampton
Why play matters?
Giving children and young people access to free quality outdoor play spaces and activities, close to their home is increasingly being accepted as an important part of their physical and emotional development.
Play is more than just providing ‘swings and roundabouts’, it is also about improving shared public spaces such as parks and town centres used by children and adults alike.
There is growing acceptance of the benefits of getting people to walk more, to play sport or simply enjoy the green and natural environment where they live.
