Raise an issue
The Scrutiny Panels welcome suggestions for topics of inquiries and will consider including issues put forward by members of the public.
If you have an issue that you think would benefit from being considered by Scrutiny, please read the criteria below first, then fill in the online form at the end of this page.
Subjects which can be considered by Scrutiny must fulfil certain criteria. They must:
- affect Wolverhampton citizens across more than one ward
- relate to a service or issue in which the Council has a significant stake
- be an area where Scrutiny can add value
- not have been reviewed (eg by a Best Value review) within the previous 12 months
- not be related to an individual complaint
- not be dealt with by another committee (eg Planning Committee)
If you have any ideas for topics that Scrutiny could look at, please suggest them using the feedback form below.
Topics must meet the above criteria and there should be a clear reason for carrying out a review. For example, an area where you think services could be improved or there is a particular issue that needs to be investigated.
Topics must be specific; for example, a general issue such as ‘crime’ could not be considered, but it might be possible to consider a specific aspect of crime.
What will happen next?
All suggestions will be acknowledged and circulated to the Scrutiny Board or releant Scruitny Panel. It is the decision of Members whether to consider suggested issues. If accepted, the issue will be included as part of the Scrutiny work programme. Members can also decide to carry out ad hoc reviews, so issues can be suggested at any time.
