Member champions

A member champion is an elected Council member who has been given responsibility for promoting a cross-cutting issue that may not fall under the remit of a particular Cabinet Member or Service Group, and develop links with the Community and Partners.

Member Champions are not part of the Executive but provide guidance and advice on the issue they Champion.

Why have Member Champions?

The development of Member Champions has been identified as part of the Comprehensive Performance Assessment. The City Council has identified the need to strengthen lead responsibility and capacity to deliver on our cross-cutting themes and other Key developments in the Corporate Plan.
