Cabinet panels
In June 2004 the Council established three Cabinet Panels to assist the Cabinet to focus on the key strategic issues facing the Council. The Cabinet Panels contribute to the efficiency of decision-making and assist in creating a high level of transparency.
Full details of the three panels can be found in the decision making section:
Role of the Cabinet panels
The Cabinet panels assist the Cabinet to make decisions about the running of Council services within the framework of the Council's Constitution, budget and plans.
Each Cabinet Panel deals with a group of services and themes and is responsible for making decisions on behalf of the Council for these services.
The Councillors who hold the Portfolio (responsibility) for the relevant services serve on the Cabinet Panels.
