The Leader of the Council

The Leader is appointed at the Annual meeting of the full Council each year and is from the party with the highest number of Councillors elected in the City.

The leader is the senior political spokesperson for the Council and the Executive and provides political leadership to the Council. 

The leader represents the City at a strategic level in the Black Country and the West Midlands.

The current leader is Councillor Neville Patten (pictured right). Councillor Patten represents the Conservative Party and is an elected Councillor for Bushbury North Ward.
