Co-opted members

The appointment of co-opted members plays an important role both in the operation of Scrutiny Panels and the investigations undertaken by Scrutiny Review Groups.

Co-opted members can:

Provide another perspective to the issue being scrutinised
Add to the diversity of knowledge and experience of the Scrutiny Panel or Review Group
Extend opportunities for community involvement in scrutiny
