You can find out more about life as a councillor in different ways.

You can contact us for information about the councillor's role and how to start the nomination process.

Come and visit

Many of the council’s decision-making activities are open to the public. 

You can attend the meetings in the Civic Centre where you'll be able to observe decision-making processes in action.

Dates, times and locations of the meetings are publicised in advance on the council meetings calendar. Alternatively, meetings are posted in the Civic Centre on a ground floor notice board on a weekly basis.
