Becoming a councillor - Can a deaf or disabled person become a councillor?

As with anyone else, as long as you meet the legal requirements, there is no reason why not.

The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 requires the council to promote disability equality by ensuring that deaf and disabled people can take part in our functions and this includes making reasonable adjustments for disabled councillors.
