Banking Services - what we do
We are responsible for:
- the overall management of the council's banking operations
- collecting £130 million of payments for the services we provide to individuals and businesses
- the Civic Centre cash counter
- corporate cash collection
- electronic services initiatives - things like online, telephone and card payment schemes.
We give you different ways to pay your bills
We want you to be able to pay your council bills in the way that's most convenient for you. That's why we accept:
If you come to collect a council cheque, we may be able to cash it for you if the rules allow.
We collect the money the city is owed
We raise invoices for council sundry debts services and collect payments for them.
These are payable immediately. If we don't receive payment within 28 days, we send a reminder before we take further action. If an invoice still isn't paid, we may pass it over to a debt collection agency.
