Chief executive

Richard Carr began work as chief executive on 20 July 2006. He joined the authority from Aylesbury Vale District Council.

Former chief-executive Derrick Anderson joined the London Borough of Lambeth in February.

Office of the Chief Executive

The Office of the Chief Executive supports the Chief Executive in his role as Head of Paid Service and when representing the authority at the sub-regional, regional and national level.

The Office of the Chief Executive consists of:

  • a small Secretariat providing secretarial and administrative support
  • Mayoral Office staff who provide support the Mayor and Deputy Mayor
  • the Emergency Planning Team who provide an emergency planning and business continuity service to aid the safety and security of the city.
