I was adopted, how do I contact my natural family?
If the adoption took place in Wolverhampton, the Family Placement Team will try to help. This Team also deals with helping to trace adopted children.

I want to contact a long lost relative/friend in Wolverhampton, can you help?
We will try! We can supply information which is in the public domain, e.g. telephone directory entries. We are not normally allowed to pass on other personal details because of Data Protection laws.

If the person you are trying to find has a common surname, just the name may not be enough to go on - please send as much information as you can. You can send these enquiries to our general contact point.

I am trying to contact a business in Wolverhampton, can you help?
The best sources for this are usually Business Link Wolverhampton or Wolverhampton Chamber of Commerce Training & Enterprise - see the Local Business Support and Advice page for contact details. You could also try the  Yellow Pages.

How do I contact my Councillor?
There are three Councillors representing each Ward in Wolverhampton. The names and contact details of all Councillors are here. If you do not know which Ward you live in, you may be able to tell from this outline map. Otherwise, contact Electoral Registration, or send your street address to our general contact point and we will let you know.

Most Councillors do not have personal e-mail as yet. You may send e-mail for the attention of a Councillor to our general contact point, and it will be printed and passed on to them, but a telephone call will usually be quicker and more confidential.

I would like to apply for a job with the Council. Do you accept e-mail applications and CVs?
Details of current job vacancies are advertised online at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/jobs.

We accept application forms by e-mail: please see the Applying for a vacancy section for instructions on how to apply electronically.

Where can I get some information about tourism/visiting Wolverhampton?
Information and help for visitors is available from the Tourist Information Centre.

The  British Tourist Authority site also contains much useful tourist and visitor information about the area.

I run a local society, how can I get its details included in your list?
The details of local clubs and societies on our pages are based on a list kept by our Libraries. Contact the Central Library and they will add your details to the list. There is no charge. As well as appearing on the Web site, your information will also be available to callers at all our branch libraries.

May I link to your site?
You are welcome to make a link to any page on our site if you think it is useful. Please do not copy any text or graphics from our pages onto your own, or include any graphics on our site within your pages, without contacting us for permission.

Will you link to my site?
We include links to other sites which we think will support the aims of our own site. Contact webmaster@wolverhampton.gov.uk   with your URL, and we'll have a look and let you know.

I am working on a school project/college dissertation/thesis, can you provide some information?
We like to help with these requests, but they can take up a lot of time, and it is not always possible to respond to them. You are more likely to get a helpful reply if you can be clear and specific about what sort of information you need - it is very hard to know how to answer a request like "please send me some information about Wolverhampton".

You can either contact the appropriate Council Department or section directly, or use our general contact point and we will pass your request on.

Will you answer my survey/questionnaire?
It is not always possible to respond to this type of request - it depends on who will need to answer it, how long it will take them, and the nature and purpose of your survey. If the questionnaire is on paper, you should send it to the Council, and it will be passed on to the appropriate section who will decide how to respond. It will usually not be practicable to respond to an e-mail survey unless the subject relates to one of the areas of work with an e-mail address listed on this site. If you need further information, please contact us with details of the subject and nature of your survey and we will try to advise you.
