Household waste

We work in partnership with Enterprise to provide a weekly collection of domestic, non-recyclable refuse to the city's 104,000 residential properties.

The partnership runs a no side waste/raised bin lids policy.  This means we will not collect any waste left at the side of your bin or collect bins with raised lids due to overfilling of the bin.

To help you to reduce the amount of waste you throw away we offer a kerbside recycling service and recycling facilities throughout the city.

Please put your wheeled bins in a safe location outside your property by 7am on your day of collection.

Our commitment to you:

  1. If your bin is outside your property on collection day and it has been missed, please wait until after 3pm to report the missed bin, we will arrange for a collection within 48 hours
  2. Provide a regular day of collection each week with the only exemption being over the Christmas period
  3. Provide each household with a bin and containers for any recycling goods collection
  4. Ensure that we clear up any spillages made by our staff
  5. Provide a helpline for advice, general enquires, compliments and complaints. This number is 01902 551155.
