Bulky and hazardous waste

We offer special collection services for all your domestic household bulky items, kitchen appliances and asbestos. Items collected include:

Asbestos

For asbestos waste we will provide you with ten bags and collect them for £55.   

Bulky items

For bulky items we charge £16.40 for the collection of up to five items.

White goods

For white goods we charge £18 per item collected. 

These are non-refundable services, if you cancel you will not be be given your money back.  

** Please note that this service is only available to residents of Wolverhampton and the service only applies to domestic properties.

Exemption policy

If you are in full receipt of either housing benefit or council tax benefit you may be eligible for exemption from charges.

How to pay

There are four ways that you can pay for the collection of your items:

  • by post
  • by phone - 01902 551119
  • express payment - in the Civic Centre
  • at the following local housing offices: Bilston, Wednesfield, Merryhill and City Centre 

Items can only be collected once payment has been received.

Hazardous waste

Whilst we do not offer a collection for hazardous waste, we can provide you with all the information you need to dispose of it safely.

Furniture recycling

Most items of furniture can be reused. What may be unwanted by you may be useful to someone else.

Other ways of disposing of bulky items

Recycle and Freecycle offers a free service whereby you can place your unwanted items online. People can then contact you to collect furniture or other items you wish to give a good home to.
