As you can see, residents are more satisfied with street cleansing overall, something we are very pleased to hear!

When considering the street cleaning service overall, panel members living in Wolverhampton North East are more likely to be satisfied (60%) than those living in Wolverhampton South East (48%) and Wolverhampton South West (51%).

We also asked you about ways to reduce litter. Almost three quarters you thought that enforcement was key, with just under half feeling that education was an important method and just over half feeling we need more litter bins.

We asked if you had any other ideas, in addition to those listed. In response 1% of residents stated they would like to see food outlets made responsible for clearing litter and a further 1% indicated dog owners who do not clean up dog mess should be prosecuted.

We have listened

Your views mean a lot to us and we have:

  • told the street cleaners what you think of their standard of work, appearance and friendliness.

Street Cleansing teams will now have:

  • new smarter high visibility uniforms.
  • business cards with the councils contact details to be given to you when you have a question or problem that they cannot directly help you with.

You can be assured that street scene teams understand the need to deliver a high standard of customer care when undertaking their daily duties.

Grounds maintenance services

We asked you how satisfied you were with certain aspects of grounds maintenance and the results are shown in the graph below, together with the results from the previous 2 year’s survey.

Your satisfaction with all aspects of Grounds Maintenance has remained the same as the last time we asked you about it.

The areas which you were most satisfied with were grass cutting and the Council's bedding plant displays.

The report shows that residents are least satisfied with graffiti removal.

Three in ten of those living in Wolverhampton North East state that ground maintenance standards have improved in their neighbourhood during the last year. 11% of those living in the Wolverhampton South West area and 17% from the South East area also feel standards of grounds maintenance have improved.

We also asked you to indicate which three aspects were most important to you. A third of you thought that well maintained parks were the most important aspect follows by collection of litter from green areas.

The most important changes panel members would like to see in order to improve environmental services are better street cleaning and improved maintenance of trees, bushes and grass verges.
