Recent compliments

Below are some of the recent compliments about the look and cleanliness of Wolverhampton.

How green is our city!

Has anyone else noticed how green Wolverhampton is becoming?

The journey along the A449 form the M54 island to the Metro system is always a pleasure. Each of the islands is planned to be a garden in itself.

The verges and surrounding areas of the dual carriageways are well attended and kept litter free.

They are planted systematically and coloured for each changing season.

Many additional green areas are planned to improve the environment - pleasant and bright even on the gloomiest day.

People who moan about Wolverhampton should go and visit other inner cities and compare them with what we have. It has changed. People need to give credit that is now due.

Let's generate a campaign to promote the Garden City of Wolverhampton.

Mrs P, Brewood.

Just a thank you for arranging not to mow Fritillaria Meadow, Ashmore Park this Spring following the problems we had last year.

For anyone interested there is now a fine display of Fritillaria meleagris, our native 'Snakes Head Fritillary' in bloom in wet meadow area in the north west corner of the park.

Many thanks

Mr M, Wolverhampton

Street Cleansing

The worker that came to clean Ryan Avenue about two weeks ago in a small machine did a brilliant job - it was very noticeable.

Mrs R, Wednesfield

Last week I requested the leaves to be cleared from Forton Close, Grove Lane and Tettenhall Road at the bottom of Old Hill by the pedestrian crossing and the bus stop.

I would like to pass on my thanks as all the leaves have been cleared and I am very impressed with the service.

Mrs H, Wolverhampton.
