Contaminated land strategy
The Contaminated Land Strategy has been produced to explain how:
- we will inspect Wolverhampton to identify land which may be contaminated and
- ensure that any contaminated land is made safe.
We are currently in the process of implementing the strategy. This is a large piece of work which will take a number of years to complete.
So far we have not declared any sites within the Wolverhampton boundary as ‘contaminated’ under the provisions of Part IIa of the Environmental Protection Act. As a result of this, there are currently no sites to include on a public register of contaminated sites.
Please be aware that only the council is authorised to determine if a piece of land within its boundary is contaminated under the terms of Part IIa the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
