Stafford Road Corridor Area Action Plan
Issues Paper Consultation
The council is conducting a public consultation on a new plan for the regeneration of the Stafford Road area of the city. The plan will be known as the Stafford Road Corridor Area Action Plan (AAP).
The first stage, the Issues Paper, highlights topics for discussion and comment so that the final plan reflects your views on what the area should be like in 2026 and what development needs to happen to achieve this.
Your views on these issues are needed as this will help make sure that new development creates job opportunities for local residents, promotes economic prosperity, enhances the quality of environment and helps to deliver a greater housing, retail and leisure offer which will benefit the whole community.

Background Information
The AAP covers the area from the M54 Junction 2 to the outer edges of the City Centre. It includes parts of Fordhouses, Bushbury, Oxley, and Low Hill.
The Stafford Road Corridor is one of the main gateways into Wolverhampton and the Black Country, containing important road and rail infrastructure which links the City with Staffordshire, Shropshire, Telford and with North-West England. It is also home to some of the highest quality employment areas in the Black Country, containing clusters of high technology leading edge manufacturing.
The AAP will form part of the Council’s planning system (the LDF), which informs new housing, employment and environmental improvements in the City, right up until the year 2026. The Plan will also help the Council to make decisions on planning applications, and will also influence decisions about transport, community facilities and jobs.
Further information on AAP's can be found here.
