Food hygiene - 'Scores on the Doors'

Welcome to “Scores on the Doors” – our webpage that puts food hygiene inspection results online!

Every business on this page has been given a rating from zero (very poor) to 5 (excellent).

How are the ratings worked out?

Following their food hygiene inspection, a business’s overall rating will be given based on the three main areas of the Food Standards Agency (FSA) Code of Practice

  • Confidence in the management of the business. This includes the track record of the company, its willingness to act on previous advice and the attitude of its present management towards hygiene and food safety.
  • The current level of compliance with food hygiene practices and procedures, including food handling and temperature control.
  • The structure and condition of the premises.  This includes among other things cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, washing facilities and so on.

How the information is gathered

The information on this page has been gathered by Environmental Health Officers and District Officers since 1 January 2006.

All inspections are carried out in accordance with the Food Safety Act, the European Communities Act and associated regulations and the Code of Practice issued by the Food Standards Agency.

The hygiene ratings given on this page are based on the latest inspection and represent conditions found by our officers on that day. It is possible that conditions may have changed since this last inspection.

Please note that the information on this page must not be considered as a either a recommendation or condemnation of any premises or food business listed.

“Scores on the Doors” is supported by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
