Mice
Wolverhampton City Council provides a free service to all occupied domestic premises within Wolverhampton for the treatment of mice.
Mice associate themselves with humans for food and shelter.
They can spread disease in their urine and faeces and it is important that at the first sign of mice good hygiene is maintained and Pest Control are called to treat the premises.
Behaviour of mice
It is usually the house mouse (mus domesticus) that invades and nests in property, however the house mouse can be confused with wood mice, field mice, harvest mice or even voles.
Mice often nest in lofts, cavity walls, under floorboards or in sheds.
The faeces of the house mouse look like small black grains of rice and each mouse can produce about 80 such droppings per day.
Control measures
The removal of all loose food and accumulation of waste or general household items is essential so that there is little for the mice to use for nesting.
