Cockroaches
Wolverhampton City Council provides a free service to all occupied domestic premises within Wolverhampton for the treatment of cockroaches.

Types of cockroach
The two main types seen in this country are German cockroaches (Blatella germanica) and Oriental cockroaches (Blatta orientalis).
Both are primarily nocturnal and thrive in humid conditions.
They eat a wide range of food and need a water supply to survive. They live in cracks, crevices and ductings but forage for food in the open.
Domesic Premises
They can infest many properties at once particularly flats or terraced houses and therefore it is important that every householder who has cockroaches contact Public Protection to enable us to deal with the situation effectively.

If you are a food premises, public protection will not be able to treat a cockroach infestation. You may decide to use a private contractor and we provide advice on choosing a pest control contractor.
