Reporting noisy neighbours

The Public Protection Service can take action if noise is being created by people's unreasonable behaviour.

If you are experiencing problems with noise from neighbours, for example  loud amplified music or noise from a television or radio set at too high a volume, the Council may be able to take action to alleviate the problem.

If you are disturbed by this type of noise please contact Public Protection for advise and assistance.

If the noise is during the day and is coming from a council property, contact your local housing office and they will take the details and investigate further.

If the noise occurs outside office hours, contact:

  • Phone: (01902) 552999

An operator will take your details and pass them to an officer to investigate.

In certain circumstances, if the noise relates to a violent or malicious incident, you may wish to contact West Midlands Police for assistance.

The Courts have held that noise arising from ordinary domestic activities being carried on in a reasonable way does not constitute a nuisance.
