Dangerous and wild animals

A licence is required to keep certain types of animals e.g. monkeys, snakes, large non domestic cats.

If you are considering buying an exotic or potentially dangerous animal you should contact us immediately for advise and guidance and to make an application.

The person you are buying the animal from should ensure you have all the relevant information prior to purchase including their own licence although this is non transferable.

If you would like to discuss any issues regarding dangerous or wild animals please contact the Public Protection Team.
