The Wolverhampton Declaration

Climate change

Climate change is one of the most important global issues that we are facing today. Our weather is changing, and will continue to change.

We are already seeing more extreme weather events across the world, many here in the UK. It is expected that in the near future we will experience hotter and drier summers (which will lead to more heat waves) and milder wetter winters in the UK. There will also be an increase in sea levels and an increase in flood risks on the coast and areas close to rivers.

Global actions are being taken to address climate change by adapting to the changes in climate that we are already witnessing, and by actually reducing the risk of climate change in the future by cutting down human contributions to it now.
