The Wolverhampton Declaration

What is the council doing to address climate change?

The council is working hard to reduce its contribution to climate change and will lead the way for everyone in Wolverhampton to ensure a longer term quality of life for all associated with the city.

Wolverhampton Declaration on Climate Change

The Wolverhampton Declaration on Climate Change was signed by the leaders of all three political groups in the City on 20 December 2006.

The council acknowledges the increasing impact that climate change will have on our community during the 21st century and commits to tackling the causes and effects of a changing climate on our city.

The Wolverhampton Declaration highlights the commitment from the council to develop plans with partners and local communities to address the causes and impacts of our changing climate.

Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan for the City

A city-wide Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan is currently being developed in fulfilment of the Wolverhampton Declaration on Climate Change.

A number of consultation activities have taken place over the summer to inform the development of the strategy by engaging with the public, businesses and stakeholders across the city. The consultation is now closed, but if you would like to know more about the Strategy please contact us.
