Education (Help for students in further/higher education)

You may find these sites useful:

  • Association of Commonwealth Universities - including information on grants, scholarships and fellowships
  • British Council Education Pages - UK courses and examinations inside and outside the UK educational exchanges and links, international opportunities for education and training
  • BUTEX (British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association) - information regarding studying outside the UK and exchange schemes
  • Citizens First - key information on European countries including living, working, studying, training and doing research, buying goods and services, travelling, equal opportunities and looking for work
  • ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) - academic recognition of studies abroad
  • Electronic Training Village - includes European study visits for vocational transparency of qualifications and implications for CVs (information on the European Forum on Transparency of Vocational Qualifications), also other resources and reports on vocational education
  • Erasmus Student Network International - students working for exchange students, includes guides to studying in other countries.  European policy issues, European student organisations
  • The European Choice - a guide to opportunities for Higher Education in Europe - general guide to opportunities in Higher Education in Europe, including HE systems in Europe, grants and loans for UK students.  EU programmes, recommended addresses and books, UK government (DfES) site
  • Careers Europe - 6 steps to a job in Europe, useful guidelines for finding work, also other useful background information, in the careers advice section of Hobsons website

TEFL course - Wolverhampton English for Adults (W.E.F.A.) run a training-to-work programme starting with a TESOL accredited course, leading to a paid work placement in either Hungary or Poland.
