Enrichment
Enrichment consists of wide-ranging and flexible provision that broadens learners' knowledge, whilst at the same time feeding their curiosity and wider interests.
In Wolverhampton, learners are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to engage in enriching activities offered by the school, groups of schools, at City level and CARD. Post 16 students in Wolverhampton have the opportunity to use Wednesday afternoons to pursue different enrichment activities.
Just a few examples of the interesting enrichment activities include:
- Theatre design
- Acting with Zip Theatre
- Designing and creating a web page
- Learn about sentencing criminals in court
- How to draw cartoons
- Mathematics and human motion
- What comes after ‘I Pod’
- Stable management for beginners
- Astronomy
- Introduction to jewellery
- BBC scriptwriting competition
In some cases the enrichment leads to nationally recognised qualifications such as First Aid, National Pool Lifeguard Certificate and British Sign Language and can contribute towards the CARD promise.
