Summer Activities Programme 2008

'Enjoy Summer 2008' is an activities programme containing information on a variety of activities for children, young people and families, taking place over the summer.

Adventure Playgrounds

The Council currently manages six adventure playgrounds, catering for age groups ranging from five years to twelve years.  

Building Schools for the Future (BSF)

BSF is a long-term programme of investment and change in Wolverhampton to transform seconday education, providing 21st Century learning environments that enable students to fulfill their potential:-

Children and Young People's Plan 2006 to 2009

The Children and Young People's Plan 2006 to 2009 lays out the priorities for improving services in the city

Strategic Plans

Strategic plans covering the main service areas of Children and Young People. Includes service missions, visions, achievements and objectives

Common Assessment Framework (CAF)

 

The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is a new way of working with children and young people.  It involves talking to the child or young person and parents, identifying any additional needs they may have and deciding how those needs should be met.  An action plan is agreed and practitioners work together to support the young person and provide 'joined up services'.

The Children's Services Directory lists organisations and agencies that work with or provide services to children, young people and their families in Wolverhampton.

Children with disabilities

The Children with Disabilities Team helps children and young people with disabilities and their families.

ContactPoint

ContactPoint is the quick way for qualified staff to find out who else is working with the same child or young person, making it easier to deliver more co-ordinated support.

Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership

The Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership is responsible for the development of childcare.  Details can be found at:-

Education welfare

 

The Education Welfare Service is mainly responsible for supporting schools, parents and children in order to make sure that attendance is as high as possible. 

 

14 to 19 Development

 

The 14 to 19 Development service aims to develop learning opportunities which meet the needs of all young people in Wolverhampton, enabling them to reach their potential.  They have recently been awarded Beacon status.  Information about the team can be found at:-

Respite care

 

Social Services provide respite care for parents/carers of children. The aim is to provide carers opportunities for free time, rest and holidays and a break from their demanding role. This care may be provided in a residential or a family setting.
