  • Christmas holiday:  Monday 24 December - Friday 4 January

Spring Term 2008

  • Term time:  Monday 7 January - Friday 8 February
  • Half Term:  Monday 11 February - Friday 15 February
  • Term time:  Monday 18 February - Thursday 20 March
  • Easter holiday:  Friday 21 March - Friday 4 April

Summer Term 2008

  • Term time:  Monday 7 April - Friday 23 May
  • May Bank Holiday:  Monday 5 May
  • Half term:  Monday 26 May - Friday 30 May
  • Term time:  Monday 2 June - Tuesday 22 July

Important notes

Teacher working days total 195. Pupils are expected to attend school on 190 working days within these overall arrangements.

It is therefore possible under the above calendar for schools to arrange their in-service training days so as to avoid the need for pupils to be in school on 21 and 22 July 2008, which fall within the 'industrial fortnight' in the last full week of July.

  • Term time:  Monday 23 February - Friday 3 April
  • Easter holiday:  Monday 6 April - 17 April [Good Friday/Easter Monday:  10 & 13 April]

Summer 2009

  • Term time:  Monday 20 April - Friday 22 May
  • May Bank Holiday:  Monday 4 May
  • Half Term:  Monday 25 May - Friday 29 May
  • Term time:  Monday 1 June - Monday 20 July

Important note

Teacher working days total 195 days. Pupils are expected to attend school on 190 working days within these overall arrangements.

It is therefore possible, under the above calendar, for schools to arrange their in-service training days (Inset) so as to avoid the need for pupils to be in school on 20 July 2009, as it falls within the 'industrial fortnight' in the last full week of July.
