Can Wolverhampton Parent Partnership Service help your School?

WPPS is keen to support schools in developing closer links with parents and carers of children with special educational needs.

We offer a range of free, school based activities for parents/carers, staff and governors including: -

SEN Awareness Sessions for Parents and Carers

  • Informative school based meetings for parents, raising awareness of the SEN Code of Practice and the importance of parental involvement in children's education.

SEN Drop in Sessions for Parents and Carers

  • School based advice sessions providing one to one support from WPPS for parents of children with SEN.

Literacy Advice Sessions for Parents and Carers (Primary schools only)

  • WPPS and the LEA Learning Support Team provide these informative school based advice sessions for parents with concerns about their children's literacy development.  The sessions include an overview of how the LEA works with schools to support children with literacy difficulties.

Staff training

  • In light of the revised SEN Code of Practice and the increased emphasis on the importance of working with parents, WPPS offers a  complete 'Working with Parents' training package.

Governor training

  • Training to help Governors carry out their responsibilities and further develop effective school links in working with parents.
