Extended Schools

Extended Schools

Extended Schools is a national initiative which recognises the place of schools at the heart of their communities and emphasises their importance in the development of more localised and integrated services for children, young people and families.

It encourages schools to work with others - including agencies such as Social Services and the Police, voluntary and community organisations, the private sector and, most importantly, parents, children and young people themselves - in order to provide the 'core offer' of extended provision.
