Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
The Site Development Support Team offer a range of specific site support services to schools that are renewable on an annual basis. The services run from the 1st April each year to the 31st March. The services currently available to schools as specific Service Level Agreements include:
Site Management Support Service
This provides support on general site issues such as caretaking, cleaning and fire risk assessments. The Service includes a 24 hour response which provides additional support to schools in the event of an emergency such as arson or vandalism. This support enables the school to continue to operate with the minimum of disruption.
Relief Caretaking Services
The service provides relief caretaking staff during holidays and other staff absences. The Local Authority employs a central pool of caretaking staff to ensure the school operates as normal during term time and allows access for staff and contractors in holiday periods.
Coordination of School Lettings
The SLA organises the hiring of school facilities to private individuals or clubs and other organisations. The service provides the public with advice on the availability of facilities and the cost of the hire, liaises with the school to secure the letting and also deals with the collection of fees and payments for caretakers additional costs.
Key Holding and Security Patrols
This SLA provides access to a key holding and security patrol service delivered by private security companies. This ensures protection for schools experiencing high levels of theft and vandalism and support for school caretakers who respond to such incidents.
Health and Safety Training
This SLA provides a range of health and safety training courses for school staff. Courses include:
- Fire Safety
- Working at Heights
- Manual Handling
- Risk Assessment
- Pool Plant Management
- Asbestos Awareness
