School Building Development Plans

We have a rolling programme for preparing building development plans in consultation with each individual school.

The plan takes account of the condition, suitability and sufficiency of the accommodation. The information is gathered from a variety of sources including audits of school sites in line with the asset management plan process

This exercise assesses the suitability of the accommodation for delivering the schools curriculum and also takes into account

  • Access for people with disabilities
  • Security
  • Health and Safety

Programme of works

On completion of the school building development plans an agreed programme of works is drawn up to address the priority issues for each school.

This programme is funded by bringing together the School's and LA's financial resources.
