Asset Management Plans

In August 1998 the Department for Education and Skills (now the Department for Children, Schools and Families) issued provisional guidance to Local Authorities (LA’s) on Asset Management Plans.

Significant additional capital funding was made available to the schools sector and it was important to ensure this funding was spent on school sites as efficiently and effectively as possible.

In order to ensure this happened, LA’s were required to produce Asset Management Plans (AMPs) for all their schools. 

The following information outlines the main stages in developing AMPs:
