Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Since April 1, 2008 local authorities have had a duty to secure sufficient childcare to enable parents to work, or undertake education and training leading to work.

To fulfil this duty, Wolverhampton City Council must ensure that the childcare available meets the needs of parents, is of high-quality, accessible and affordable. This assessment has to be completed every 3 years with a refresh every 12 months.

This assessment will support Wolverhampton in the development of strategies relating to childcare for the next three years, this work is detailed in the action plan.
