Early Years and Childcare Service

The aim of the Early Years and Childcare Service is to fulfil the statutory requirements of the Childcare Act 2006 with regard to:

  • Promoting the well-being of young children
  • Securing sufficient childcare for working parents
  • Providing information, advice and assistance to parents / carers

Support and guidance

We offer support and guidance to childcare providers including:

Childminders,  Playgroups, Private nurseries,  Independent school nurseries,  Voluntary groups, Children’s centres, Nursery schools, Maintained nurseries.

Through our work with all of the childcare providers and schools we aim to ensure all children living in the area get the best opportunities.

We have specialist, dedicated teams who can help with many different childcare issues:

  • Training courses
  • Business support and sustainability
  • Support to meet Ofsted requirements
  • Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Equality and Inclusion
