Adventure Playgrounds
The Council currently manages six adventure playgrounds, catering for age groups ranging from five years to twelve years.

Common Assessment Framework (CAF)
The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) is a new way of working with children and young people. It involves talking to the child or young person and parents, identifying any additional needs they may have and deciding how those needs should be met. An action plan is agreed and practitioners work together to support the young person and provide 'joined up services'.

Children with disabilities
The Children with Disabilities Team helps children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Education welfare
The Education Welfare Service is mainly responsible for supporting schools, parents and children in order to make sure that attendance is as high as possible.

Respite care
Social Services provide respite care for parents/carers of children. The aim is to provide carers opportunities for free time, rest and holidays and a break from their demanding role. This care may be provided in a residential or a family setting.
