How to pay online
You can pay your council bills by debit or credit card using our online payment service.
What will I need?
To pay your council bill online you will need:
- your reference number shown on your bill
- the amount you wish to pay
- your debit or credit card details.

Security
Our online payments service uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL encrypts your details so that any information you send to us is secure. This makes it safer for sending over the internet.
Wolverhampton City Council have enhanced the online payments facility to accept 3D secure enabled cards. If you have been sent a credit/debit card from your bank that is 3D secure enabled and you have registered your security details with them, you will be asked for this additional security information during your transaction.
Processing your online payments
Subject to Bank Holidays:
- Payments made before 5.30pm on a weekday will be reflected on your council account the next working day.
- Payments made after 5.30pm on a weekday will be reflected on your council account in two working days.
- Payments made after 5.30pm on Fridays and for any payments made on Saturday and Sunday will be reflected on your council account on the following Tuesday.
Other online ways to pay
Alliance and Leicester BillPay website can be used, however payments take four working days to reach your account.
