Volunteer Service

The service was set up in December 2008 to enable volunteering in Wolverhampton.

We aim to make it as easy as possible for anyone aged 18 or over to volunteer, whether they have lots of time or can only spare a few hours a week, and also for local organisations to have access to the right volunteers.

If you are under 18 and want to volunteer please contact Wendy Walker on wwalker@wolverhamptonvsc.org.uk.

Unfortunately we currently are unable to support volunteers under the age of 18. If this relates to you or a family member/friend wishing to volunteer, please get in touch on the link above and we will endeavour to provide you with the relevant information.

*Please note, as part of our monitoring procedures you will be asked to provide your National Insurance Number.

Organisations

Our aim is to help organisations gain access to a wide range of people across Wolverhampton whose common aim is to give their time for free to help others. We ask organisations to complete the attached form and send or bring it to us with as much information as possible about your organisation and what you would like volunteers to be able to do for you. We can also visit you and discuss ways of including volunteers in your organisation to aid your work. This enables us to match you up with the most suitable volunteers.

Volunteers

What is a volunteer?

Someone who gives their time freely for the benefit of others.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone! Because no pay is involved it does not affect anyone’s status or benefits.

What can volunteers do?

We have a range of opportunities available and they change all the time. From befriending to shop work and gardening to driving; the chances are that if you can do it you can volunteer to do it!

If you would like to register as a volunteer with us, please complete the attached form either by downloading it, requesting a hard copy by post, or coming in to see us.

Wolverhampton Volunteers has a Training Advisor in post and on hand to support volunteers with gaining training and educational opportunities to compliment volunteering and enhance future employability. As well as supporting individuals Jason Griffiths (TA) is able to arrange bespoke training packages for volunteer involving organisations and their volunteers. Get in touch with Jason or drop in to see how he can support you.
