Addiction Services
The Unit provides treatment services to those who problematically use drugs and/or alcohol. Treatment is provided on a multi-disciplinary basis by nurses, doctors, psychologists, counsellors, social workers and drugs workers. Treatment includes individual counselling, group work, prescribing, community and inpatient detoxification and referral for access to community and residential rehabilitation. Individuals may access the service by self-referral through the 'Drop in' Assessment Clinics (refer "Opening Times") or by referral from an external agency. The Service continues to contribute to the Trust's strategic priority of reducing inequalities in health and access to healthcare. Treatment access and provision is based upon equality and non-discriminatory ethos.
