Mortuaries

We provide a public mortuary service administered by our Bereavement Service. 

Regulated under Section 198 of the Public Health Act 1936, the city's public mortuary is located at:

The mortuary is the only facility within Wolverhampton equipped to carry out post mortems. More than 500 post mortems are carried out each year for the Coroner and the Health Authority.

Mortuary facilities and equipment benefited from a major refurbishment during 2002/3, providing new refrigeration equipment, and upgrading the post mortem facilities.
