What is the Wolverhampton Racial Harassment Partnership (WRHP)?
Wolverhampton Racial Harassment Partnership (WRHP) is a multi–agency committed to working in partnership to tackle racial harassment across the city.
This multi–agency is made up of partners from the following:
- All Saints and Blakenhall Community Development
- Citizens Advice Bureau
- Crown Prosecution Service
- Focus Housing
- Probation Service
- Touchstone Housing
- University of Wolverhampton
- Victim Support
- West Midlands Police
- Wolverhampton City Council
- Wolverhampton Community Safety Partnership
- Wolverhampton Homes
What are the WRHP objectives?
WRHP objectives are:
- To co-ordinate a multi – agency response to racial incidents according to good practice guidelines
- To create a climate where reporting of racial incidents is actively encouraged in the City of Wolverhampton
- Encourage agencies that record and deal with racial incidents to share and exchange information and create a more complete picture of the situation
- To increase awareness of legislation focusing on racial harassment through training
- To adopt a common definition of a racist incident amongst agencies who deal with racist incidents
- To monitor racial incidents in the City of Wolverhampton
- To promote equality of opportunity throughout the City of Wolverhampton.
