Broad Street Basin, City Centre

This site is located in Wolverhampton's city centre canalside quarter near to the bus and train station.  It extends from the top lock of Wolverhampton’s 21 flight of locks through to the junction of the Birmingham Canal Navigation and the Wyrley and Essington Canal

The proposed works involve the re-commissioning of the in-filled Hay’s Wharf canal basin to form a new high profile water space for canal boat moorings.

An architectural lighting scheme at the Broad Street bridge and in the tunnel under the railway station’s multi-storey car park will enhance visitor safety, improving security for walkers and cyclists.

Environmental improvement works will include the installation of high quality paving and the painting of bridges.
